CHANDIGARH, Aug 20: The worsening sex ratio in the country, the methods adopted to eliminate female child, the consequences and factors contributing to the inverse sex ratio were discussed at a seminar organised at ICSSR Complex Punjab University here today.

Experts from Kerala, New Delhi, Punjab and Haryana, participating in the seminar, discussed measures to put a check on imbalance in sex ratio and the general psychology of those who indulge into female foeticide were discussed at the seminar.

The one-day seminar on quot;Towards Prevention of Female Foeticidequot; was organised by Voluntary Health Association of Punjab in collaboration with the National Foundation of India, New Delhi. The seminar was inaugurated by Vineeta Rai, Advisor to the Administrator, while the inaugural address was delivered by Vibha Parthasarthy.
