LUCKNOW, JAN 8: Petroleum Sports Control Board’s domination in both men and women’s team events was complete as they won the titles in their respective categories in the 61st Sahara National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships at the Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Stadium Saturday evening.

The PSCB men won the Barna-Bellack Cup, symbol of supremacy for men, for the sixth time in a row when they outclassed debutant finalists Uttar Pradesh 3-0 in the final which hardly rose above mediocrity. This was PSCB’s seventh title-win in their eight years of participation in the team events.

On the contrary, the women’s final between PSCB and last year’s winners Railways turned out to be a close affair with the former clinching the issue after having been stretched to the full distance. PSCB thus regained the Jayalakshmi Cup to make it their eighth title, after having finished third at Chennai last year.
