PANCHKULA, June 25: A month-long Entrepreneurial Development Programme EDP has been organised by the Small Industries Service Institute, Ministry of Industry, in association with the District Industries Centre, Panchkula. The programme on fashion designing and garment manufacturing technology at the Punjab National Bank Staff Training College, Sector 6 here started on June 22, 1999.

The programme was inaugurated by Rajeev Arora, Director Industries, Haryana. In his inaugural address, Arora emphasised the need of quality manufacturing to meet global standards. He said the participants should avail the benefit of the govt schemes and set up projects in Haryana.

Speaking on the occasion, Hem Raj Sharma, GM, District Industries Centre, apprised about the State Govt policies and procedures involved in the setting up Small Scale Industry in Panchkula. About 85 students are participating in this programme. The participants, with a minimum qualification of Plus Two, have to pay a fee of Rs 250 each.
