Didier Drogba rejoined his Ivory Coast team mates at their Alpine training camp in Switzerland on Monday with a cast protecting his broken right arm. Team spokesman Eric Kacou said its not known when Drogba can resume training after the squad arrives in South Africa on Thursday,or if he will play at the World Cup.

Holland take Robben gamble

Bert van Marwijk is taking a gamble by keeping injured Dutch winger Arjen Robben in his World Cup squad,the coach said on Monday. The Bayern player is to remain part of the squad despite hurting his left hamstring in Saturdays 6-1 rout of Hungary in a friendly in Amsterdam. We had an ideal World Cup warm up until the injury,Van Marwijk said. But 8230; Im willing to take the risk of keeping Robben in my squad.

Germans arrive,in style

Germany arrived in style for June 11-July 11 tournament,having made the 10-hour journey south from Frankfurt. Germany open their campaign on Sunday against Australia in Durban. Coach Joachim Loew has brought Germanys second youngest squad ever to a World Cup. Only the team at the first World Cup in 1934 was younger.

Discipline key,Lampard to team

England midfielder Frank Lampard has warned his team mates that discipline on the field will be a key factor for any World Cup success. The 31-year-old newly-installed vice-captain also rejected suggestions that striker Wayne Rooney might be easily provoked into retaliation. Wayne has matured a lot as a player over the last few years as we all know,so I dont see that one happening.

Argentine hooligans deported

South African police deported 10 suspected Argentine hooligans on Monday after detaining them at Johannesburg airport less than a week before the start of the World Cup,the Argentine embassy said. Argentine media said the 10,part of a group of 80 supporters travelling from South America via Angola,had been picked out because of criminal records.

Bendtner trains alone

Denmark forward Nicklas Bendtner trained separately from the rest of their World Cup squad on Monday as he struggles to get over a groin problem. However,he has no worries about his overall fitness ahead of the opening Group E game against Netherlands next Monday.
