Woods said he was frustrated and disappointed after an early departure from the tournament.

Tiger Woods made an early exit from the US PGA Championship missing the cut after a score of 3-over-par 73.

It was for the first time that Woods missed his first cut at the US PGA,and only his third at a major in 15 years.

“I think I was in nearly,what,20 bunkers in two days. And I had four or five water balls. So that’s not going to add up to a very good score,” Woods was quoted,as saying by The Telegraph.

Woods said he was frustrated and disappointed after an early departure from the tournament.

“I think it is a step back in the sense that I didn’t make the cut. But it’s a giant leap forward in that I played two straight weeks, healthy. That’s great for our practice sessions coming up. We are going to be able to work and get after it,something, unfortunately,I haven’t been able to do. I thought I could come in here and play the last couple of weeks and get it done somehow, but I need some work,” he said.

The result also could mark the end of his PGA Tour season. Ranking 129th in FedEx Cup points,Woods did not enter next week”s Greensboro stop that marks the last event to break into the top 125 that advances to the tour”s four-event ‘postseason’ series.
