Syria start with a stroll,beat Kyrgyzstan 2-0

Syria emerged victorious by 2-0 in their Nehru Cup opener against Kyrgyzstan, the scoreline certainly not as impressive as they’d wished.

Syria’s Nehru Cup opener against Kyrgyzstan wasn’t one of spectator interest, but the stands had most of the participating teams following the tournament’s highest-ranked outfit kick off their campaign.

They emerged victorious by 2-0,the scoreline certainly not as impressive as they’d wished, but Syria had taught other teams a few lessons.

Kyrgyzstan conceded early,in the ninth minute, through a clever interweaving move by Syrian midfielders Abdalrazak Al Housain and Moutaz Kaildni who played the final pass to Mohamad Alzino to get the ball in. What followed was a lazy show of half-hearted attacks. The strategy frustrated the Kyrgyz defence. After failing to win back possession in the midfield, defender Albakimov Roman challenged Alaga from behind and the referee didn’t waste a moment in taking out the red card in the 67th minute.

The Syrians piled on the pressure and Raja Rafe’s immediate inclusion resulted in a flurry inside the Kyrgyzstan box. The inevitable happened in the 72nd minute. Rafe passed it to Alzino and the striker gave Alaga a chance to make up for the misses. Kyrgyzstan were denied after Murzal V Almazblk’s header from Vladimir’s cross hit the post.
