Five Taliban fighters were killed and 14 more captured as Pakistani security forces continued search and clearance operations in the restive Swat valley and other parts of Malakand division,the military said on Thursday.
Five militants were killed by security forces during a search operation at Delai in Swat,the military said in a statement.
Troops apprehended 14 militants during operations at Fatehpur,Bara Bandai,Barama,Aloch and Matta in Swat. Five militants voluntarily surrendered to security forces at Miandam,Barshaur and Tilligram.
In the lawless Waziristan tribal region,four soldiers were injured when militants fired eight rockets at a security forces check post,the statement said.
