Bolt wins 400m
Jamaican sprint king Usain Bolt launched his 2010 campaign on Saturday with an impressive 400m victory at the Camperdown Classic. Bolt ran from lane four and clocked 45.86 seconds to break the meet record. The lanky sprinte was ahead by metres when he entered the final straight and had time to ease down across the finish line for a comfortable victory.
Spurs hold on to force replay
Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur battled to a 1-1 stalemate in their FA Cup fifth round tie at the Reebok Stadium Sunday after Tom Huddlestone missed a second half penalty for the visitors. Holders Chelsea had to step up a gear in the second half to reach the quarter-finals with a 4-1 victory over Cardiff,and Manchester City will have to play Stoke again after being held 1-1. Portsmouth beat Southampton 4-1 to advance and Birmingham beat Derby 2-1.
Bayern beat Dortmund 3-1
Bayern Munich rallied to beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Saturday and move within a goal of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen,who capitalised on two goalkeeping errors to beat defending champions Wolfsburg 2-1 to remain undefeated
Zvonareva retains Pattaya title
Russias Vera Zvonareva made a successful defence of her Pattaya Open title after a tense and testing 6-4 6-4 win over local favourite Tamarine Tanasugarn on Sunday. Zvonareva had a fierce battle with the tenacious Thai,who was inspired by the partisan home crowd and challenged the Russian throughout a physical one hour,51-minute match.
Sutil clocks 2nd-fastest time
Adrian Sutil clocked the second-quickest time of the day to round off Force Indias four-day testing at the Circuit de Jerez. In between running through system checks,set-up evaluation and tyre comparisons,he posted his best lap of 1:20.180,which was just half a second behind McLarens Lewis Hamilton. Sutil completed 84 laps of the Spanish track to bring Force Indias total test mileage to more than 1,200km.
