Phone-hacking: 7/7 victim kin to sue NOTW

As investigations continue at various levels into the issues raised by phone-hacking at Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World,a UK court today admitted a petition of the mother of a victim of the London bombings against the now defunct tabloid.

Sheila Henry,the mother of July 7 victim Christian Small,has launched the legal action against the publisher of the tabloid after she was told by Scotland Yard detectives that her son’s phone was targeted by Glen Mulcaire,the private investigator who worked for the paper.

Justice Vos,the high court judge hearing civil actions against the publisher of the News of the World,said that he would take the mother’s case as one of the lead actions against the Sunday tabloid,according to The Guardian.

Henry is reported to have been told by the police that her son’s phone was targeted by Glenn Mulcaire in the aftermath of the 7 July bombings in which 52 people died.

Christian Small,28,died when his Piccadilly line train was bombed between King’s Cross and Russell Square stations.
