Former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf has blamed Muslim extremism in India for terror activities increasing in the subcontinent, saying it is a matter of worry for the whole world.
Musharraf, who is on a lecture tour of the US currently, told a gathering at Brown University in Providence,Rhode Island, those Muslim extremists in India pose a growing concern for the international community.
Referring to the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI),Musharraf said the organization was a clear example that extremism is growing among Muslim youth in India.
There is a sense of frustration of unequal opportunity and discrimination in India, said Musharraf.
Musharraf also criticized Pakistans current leadership and blamed the leaders for the current crises facing the country.
Its not a crisis of nation or people, but a crisis of leadership. Simple as that, The Nation quoted Musharraf,as saying.
Musharraf defended Pakistans development of nuclear arms as a logical response to Indias development of nuclear weapons.
I am called a man of war,but I am a man of peace because I understand the ravages of war. Military action only buys time,it does not deliver the cure, said the former general.
