Let BCCI decide who should attend AGM

Board president Shashank Manohar will decide on the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) representation in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) after both warring factions of the state association sent their respective candidates for the Thursday meeting in Mumbai.

The RCA issue took centre-stage when RCA president Sanjay Dixit was removed after a no-confidence motion was passed against him last Sunday by the Lalit Modi-led faction and assigned Rajendra Singh Rathod, who is now vice-president of the state association,to attend Thursdays BCCI AGM. Dixit, however, maintained that his ouster unconstitutional and insisted that he was still allowed to attend the BCCIs annual meeting.

The board president will now decide who will attend the meeting, said Dixit.

Subhash Joshi, former secretary and one of the men responsible for Modis ouster as well from RCA earlier this year, ascertained that the association had given authority to Rathod after their AGM. It was during the AGM that the decision about Rajendra Singh Rathod attending the BCCI meeting was taken. And after all the AGM body is the final authority. If they have decided a name, nobody can go against it, Joshi said.
