Former Test cricketer Kirti Azad attacked Bihar Cricket Association chief Lalu Prasad accusing him of ruining cricket in the state by running the BCA in an arbitrary manner.

“Disbanding of the BCA and constitution of an ad-hoc committee to run the game in Bihar by Prasad was an example of the arbitrary manner that he has been running cricket administration,” Azad,a BJP MP and president of BCA’s parallel body,Association for Bihar Cricket (ABC),said.

“What was the need for setting up an ad-hoc committee consisting of the same set of people who were the office bearers of the disbanded body?” asked the former allrounder.

He alleged that the reason for disbanding the BCA could be to brush under the carpet some wrongdoings and financial irregularities by the members of the dissolved body.

Cricketers from Bihar were staring at a bleak future and unable to draw the selectors’ attention as the BCA has failed to set up proper infrastructure for the game in the state,Azad said during a visit to his constituency.

He urged the BCCI to grant recognition to the ABC being run by him to put in place a transparent system for running the game in Bihar and adequate infrastructure for budding talents.
