India against Corruption (IAC) leader Arvind Kejriwal and hundreds of supporters were detained today when they marched to the residences of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,Congress president Sonia Gandhi and BJP chief Nitin Gadkari on the issue of coal block allocation, with police using tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.

The day began with Kejriwal surfacing outside the PM’s residence, while others including Manish Sisodia were detained outside the residences of the Congress and BJP chiefs. They were released after about an hour.

At Jantar Mantar, where Kejriwal addressed the crowd later in the day,the change in the leadership of the movement was apparent as many were seen with “I am Arvind” caps. Kejriwal, however, sought to underplay this. “I appeal to people not to wear these caps. Anna Hazare is our leader… I am just a soldier.” he said.
