India is on a high. Chennai and Hyderabad were great Test results for them, and victories against this beleaguered Australian side at Mohali and Delhi could give them an unprecedented 4-0 sweep, If that happens,it will be Australias worst series result in 43 years. Day One at the PCA Stadium was lost to rain and when the Test finally began on Friday, there werent more than 50 people to watch the toss. By lunch there might have been around 500 and even when India dominated the second half of the day, picking up seven Aussie wickets, the number only touched around a thousand or two. These numbers a stark contrast to the healthy turnouts in Chennai and Hyderabad seem a shame. This isnt the first time the PCA Stadium hasnt been able to draw in large numbers for Test matches, unlike the IPL,T-20s and ODIs. Remember the 2008 Australia Test when only 2000-3000 people watched Sachin Tendulkar surpass Brian Lara to become the highest run-getter in Test cricket? As a first step to remedy the situation, the PCA has decided to sell daily tickets for the remaining three days: We wish to see more crowds on the last three days,so we have slashed the rates of the tickets. The AC Lounge ticket has been slashed to Rs 1200 per day,Terrace Block to Rs 600 per day and Chair Block to Rs 100 per day, PCA joint secretary GS Walia said.
