Explosive batsman Chris Gayle is set to miss whole of Australias tour of the West Indies after a meeting with West Indies Cricket Board officials failed to resolve issues related to his Indian Premier League (IPL) commitment.
According to reports,Gayle was keen to end his dispute with the board, which has kept him out of international cricket since last years World Cup.
Its now understood that a difference of opinion over whether Gayle should be allowed to honor his IPL contract, instead of representing the West Indies caused Mondays talks in St Vincent to break down,The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
Gayle wasn’t named in the squad named on Wednesday by Windies selectors for the final two one-day internationals against Australia in St Lucia, and it appears he will remain outside the team for the rest of the tour, with another meeting unlikely to take place.
