Defiant Modi ready for battle

Typical of Lalit Modi, the suspended IPL commissioner tweeted defiance to the civil and criminal proceedings against him.

Typical of Lalit Modi, the suspended IPL commissioner on Sunday tweeted defiance to the civil and criminal proceedings against him and made a veiled remark about revealing more BCCI secrets to bring out the truth of the matter.

“Battle lines have been drawn. Agenda’s fixed. Timelines laid. Let’s see who wins and who is guilty of what. Now truth will emerge. Wait watch,” Modi tweeted.

BCCI on Saturday unanimously ratified charges of financial bungling in their Special General Body Meeting, authorising president Shashank Manohar to take legal recourse besides constituting a new-look disciplinary committee under union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia — a step that is expected to lead to his expulsion from the BCCI. Modi’s replies, the first one running into 15,000 pages and second one, were also rejected by the BCCI.

Meanwhile,Shane Warne, who captained Rajasthan Royals in the first three IPL seasons, offered words of encouragement to Modi. “Hey Lalit what’s latest, they still into you? Not fair that … Hope all works out mate.. It’s your vision the IPL,” Warne said in his tweet.
