Back in business: Lee-Hesh for tour

After giving the Indian tennis fans a lot to look forward to the new season by announcing that he and Leander Paes are getting back together for the Australian Open

After giving the Indian tennis fans a lot to look forward to the new season by announcing that he and Leander Paes are getting back together for the Australian Open,Mahesh Bhupathi went on to confirm that the first time the Indian stars will play on the same side of the net will be at the Chennai Open. And now it can well be expected that the duo are teaming up for the whole of 2011 tour. “We are looking forward to reuniting for the 2011 tour,” Leander Paes was quoted as saying on Monday.

“It all happened in just one meeting, and we are really looking forward to the Chennai Open and winning the elusive Australian Open together,” Paes said.

Both Bhupathi and Paes had been playing with their respective partners Lukas Dlouhy and Max Mirnyi for a long time on the professional circuit. After they won their 23rd consecutive Davis Cup tie in September,Paes had admitted that their partnership was indeed magical but went on to add that ‘magic doesn’t happen everyday,’ hinting at the bleak chances of a reunion.

However, while playing the ATP World Tour Finals Bhupathi announced the news through Twitter on 20th November : “So the Indian Express rolls again at the Aussie Open next year. Our first slam in 9 years..you heard it here first people.” Adding on to the teaser,Bhupathi wrote 20 days later,“Indian Express confirms first stop of 2011 will be the Aircell Chennai Open. That’s where it all began in 97.”
