US to pursue constructive diplomacy with India and Pak

President Barack Obama said the US will pursue constructive diplomacy with both India and Pakistan to reduce tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours.
“To lessen tensions between two nuclear-armed nations that too often teeter on the edge of escalation and confrontation,we must pursue constructive diplomacy with both India and Pakistan,” Obama said,while unveiling his administration’s new strategy on Afghanistan and Pakistan,which has been plagued by terrorism,at the White House.
He argued that the use of constructive diplomacy with India and Pakistan is important to win the ‘war against terror’ in the region.

US President Barack Obama unveiled a new strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan,saying the top goal was to destroy al Qaeda.
Obama said in a speech the situation in Afghanistan was “increasingly perilous.”
“Multiple intelligence estimates have warned that al Qaeda is actively planning attacks on the US homeland from its safe-haven in Pakistan,” he said.
