President Pratibha Patil, who is deeply concerned over the Mumbai attacks, went ahead with her South-East Asia tour as it was felt that the visit would help garner support of the countries in the region to tackle the scourge, a senior aide said on Saturday.

It was considered at the highest level that there should not be any change in the visit to Indonesia which also faces similar terrorist threats, Christy Fernandez, Secretary to the President, told reporters accompanying Patil in Bali.

The visit would help in further garnering the support of those countries in the region to tackle terrorism, Fernandez added.

Patil rang up Prime Minister Manmohan Singh twice in the last three days to enquire about the latest situation in Mumbai.
