CHANDIGARH, Nov 22: The Chandigarh Press Club beat Food Corporation of India by one wicket in a pulsating exhibition cricket match at the Sector 26 Police Lines ground here today.
FCI totalled 178 for 4 in 25 overs. Former Punjab stumper Arun Sharma hit hammered 78 runs off 70 balls with seven fours and one six. His partnership with Kulwinder (25) was instrumental in shaping a healthy FCI total.
Vikrant Gupta (56; 27 balls, eight fours, two sixes) and skipper Ajay Banerjee (36; seven fours) put Press Club in commanding position. The victory, however, was achieved by the late-oder heroics by Narinder Kwatra (29 n.o.) and Ashok Mahajan.
Arun Sharma was declared the man of the match, Kulwinder was the best bowler and Vikrant was the best batsman.
