Jairam Ramesh8217;s eye-catching stunts are taking PSUs of the Power Ministry by surprise. The new Minister of State for Power visited the NTPC office last week to attend a function. When the CMD was thanking him for having taken time out from his schedule, Ramesh interrupted to comment that he did not understand why the CMDs should be running to Shram Shakti Bhavan when it should be the other way round. As for scoring brownie points with his PSUs, Ramesh got the Power Grid Corporation of India to drop his photograph from an advertisement that the PSU was issuing in a newspaper, saying he had contributed nothing to claim credit for.
