Digvijay Singh, a postman at Viru, was on his way to collect mail on Monday afternoon when he was caught by the CPI(Maoist) cadres and shot dead. He is the first postal employee to be killed in Naxal violence in Jharkhand. Digvijay, the sole breadwinner of the family, was shot on his neck and head. He has four daughters. ”My brother was godfearing and always helped people,” said an inconsolable Rajendra Singh. Police recovered a pamphlet claiming the postman was a police informer. ”Beware all those who worked for the peace committee,” warned the pamphlet.
