If you were looking forward to a taste of old Deutschland and long idealistic speeches on German Unification Day that fell on Friday, you were much mistaken. The German ambassador to India, Bernd Muuml;tzelburg, and wife Monika presented a modern face of Germany to over 1,000 guests at the commemoration of 18 years of unification. They cheered the fall of the Berlin Wall by lounging and listening demurely to the retro-pop music cranked out by DJ Jayant. 8220;We have always done something different on Unification Day. Last year, we celebrated it with lights and the year before we had an acrobat evening. This year, we decided to have a lounge experience,8221; says Michael Hasper, spokesman. Impressive it was with four chic lounges and sophisticated dining with delectable starters from asparagus puff to lamb chops. Even as they celebrated the end of Berlin Wall, the Wall Street crisis was not far away.
