Dhar, June 26: A tribal was killed and another seriously injured today when police resorted to firing to disperse a mob of tribals, which tried to attack a police personnel with stones in village Labaria under Rajod police station area in Dhar district.
“The police fired in self-defence when a group of agitated tribals kidnapped one of the police personnel and tried to kill him by mercilessly beating him with stones”, Inspector General of police V M Kanwar told PTI.
The tribals staged a `chakka jam’ on Sardarpur-Badnawaroad at Labaria, 70 kms from Dhar, against the death of one of their men near Singh Bhairon who died on June 18 after his release from Rajod police station and were demanding that policemen responsible for his death be handed over to them.
