Conductor napping under bus run over
In a freak accident, a conductor was seriously injured when the driver of his own bus ran over him at the Anand Vihar bus terminal on Tuesday. Ramashish, the conductor of a Gorakhpur-Delhi bus, was taking an afternoon nap in the shade under the bus. At around 3 p.m., driver Markandey Singh returned and boarded the bus. He started the vehicle without checking under it, and ran over the conductor. Ramashish’s right shoulder was crushed. He was rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. His condition is critical. The driver is absconding.

21-yr-old woman gang-raped
A 21-year-old woman was gang-raped last night in the Ambedkar Nagar Police Station area in south district. The three accused, one of them allegedly known to the victim, are absconding. The victim was staying with one Shiva alias Shiv Singh in Dakshipuri area till he was jailed a few months ago.

According to the victim, Shiva’s friend Lalit, who was a regular visitor to their house, met her last night. He apparently told the victim that he had got her a job at a cable office in Dakshipuri itself. On the pretext of introducing her to the people concerned, Lalit allegedly took her to the cable shop late in the night. There, she met Lalit’s two cable operator friends.

According to the victim, Lalit offered her liquor, which she reportedly accepted. The three persons allegedly sexually assaulted her after she was inebriated. The girl lodged a formal complaint to the Ambedkar Nagar police station this morning.

Italian official’s house robbed of Rs 29 lakh, cook missing
A theft of cash amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh and 70,000 USD took place at the Vasant Vihar residence of the visa councillor of the Italian Embassy yesterday. Rafika A.E. Parosis suspects the culprit is his Nigerian cook, Peter, who went missing after the incident. The Vasant Vihar police station has registered a case and have launched a hunt to trace him. Peter is in his late 20s and his photograph will be passed around identification.

According to the police, Parosis employed Peter three years ago when he was on a posting in Nigeria. When Parosis came back from office at around 2 in the afternoon, he noticed his money and Peter missing. He immediately called the police and lodged an FIR.
