PUNE, Sept 29: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Transport administration today suspended four bus conductors on charge of malpractices such as not issuing tickets to passengers and siphoning off fare amount during the special services for the Chatuhshrungi fair.
A departmental inquiry has been initiated against conductors Mohan Tandale, Kumar Motyani, Ashok Punne and Arun Nanavare. In another case, the administration suspended a helper Maruti Mane, who had abused other employees in an inebriated condition. A police complaint has been lodged against him for threatening other employees.
PCMT general manager Amrut Savant, who has initiated disciplinary measures for the staff over the past two months after assuming charge, has suspended 27 employees on various charges. Nine employees have been dismissed and increments of 55 stopped. Ten employees were suspended for four days, 43 fined and 34 issued a warning. An amount of Rs 7650 was recovered from defaulting employees.
