PCMC engineer, wife die in road accident

A couple was killed as a car collided with a truck near Manchar Narayangaon Road on Sunday night.

A couple was killed as a car collided with a truck near Manchar Narayangaon Road on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Arunsingh Vitthalsingh Pardeshi (44) and his wife Shobha (38). Pardeshi, a resident of Bhakti Heritage society in Chinchwad is a junior engineer with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

While Pardeshi and his wife died on the spot, their daughter Nisha (11), son Nikhil (14) and Pardeshi’s sister Shakuntala Sardarsingh Pardeshi suffered serious injuries. They are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

According to Manchar police, Pardeshi family had gone to their native place in Nashik. It was while their returning the car met with accident. The police said that Pardeshi lost control of the vehicle near Gandhi College on Manchar Narayangoan. The car flipped over the divider and was hit by the truck. The police have registered a case against the truck driver.
