
A doping expert said Wednesday that there were flaws in the Pakistan Cricket Board8217;s doping procedures under which fast bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif were banned 8212; a decision that was later overturned. 8220;PCB8217;s dope testing procedure was flawed,8221; Dr. Danish Zaheer told reporters.
8220;There were no proper notifications to the players for the tests, as you need to give them players written notifications before testing but instead players were informed by telephone.8221;
Zaheer was one of the three members of the appellate committee that overturned the bans 8212; but had dissented from the decision. He had called for fresh tests to be conducted under World Anti-Doping Agency WADA guidelines.
