PCB inquires absence of Indian flag at venue

PCB has launched an inquiry into the embarrassing absence of the Indian national flag at the National Stadium entrance.

Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday launched an inquiry into the embarrassing incident of absence of the Indian national flag at the National Stadium entrance in Karachi during the ongoing Asia Cup.

On the first two days of the Asia Cup, the Indian flag was missing at the main entrance of the national stadium where the Board had hoisted flags of all other participating nations — Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and United Arab Emirates — in the Asia Cup.

The matter was also raised during the press conference of Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni Wednesday night after defeating Hong Kong and he diplomatically responded this question should be put to the PCB and not him.

The fault was rectified but sources in the PCB said an inquiry was being held as who was responsible for the faux pas, which caused a lot of embarrassment.

“Apparently the person responsible for this task forgot about the Indian flag before it was pointed out to him,” one source said.
