Ahmednagar, Feb 21: Senior Congress leader Sharad Pawar today alleged that the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance was behind the 1993 Mumbai riots and challenged the alliance government to make public the Srikrishna Commission report.

Addressing a well-attended public meeting at Sangamner for Congress candidate Prasad Tanpure from Kopargaon Lok Sabha constituency, Pawar alleged that “the alliance government is behind the killing of innocents during the riots”.

Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi had categorically stated that his government has no intention of hiding the Srikrishna Commission report but clarified that the government would follow all the provisions of the Commission of Enquiry Act before making it public.

The report will have to be tabled before the State Legislature within six months as per the provisions of the Act and complete all procedures to avoid any breach of previlege, Joshi had said.
