JODHPUR, December 7: BJP chief L K Advani has said his party will continue its alliance with regional parties like the Shiv Sena and the HVP. At a press meeting on Sunday, Advani said the BJP will formally launch its campaign from Bhubaneswar on December 19.

Plea to Mulayam

AGARTALA: The UF core committee which will meet in New Delhi on Monday will request SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav not to forge any alliance with the Congress. All India Forward Block general secretary Debabrata Biswas said this at a press conference on Sunday.

Tripura appeal

AGARTALA: The ruling Left Front in Tripura will be asking the EC to hold simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the State to avoid "duplication of expenditure". The Assembly election is scheduled for March.

Karnataka SP

BANGALORE: The SP will contest all the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka in the forthcoming polls, State unit leader Prof S Gurulingappa announced on Sunday. Prof Gurulingappa claimed there was "tremendous pressure" from the public on the party to field its candidates.

Lok Shakti plans

BANGALORE: The Lok Shakti has said it has an "open mind" on alliance with other parties in the coming Lok Sabha polls. The party’s State unit president Jeevaraj Alva said that its primary target would be the Janata Dal.
