AHMEDABAD, May 30: Second seed and local hero Valay Parikh (Gujarat) continued to be the sole leader with 5.5 points in the under-14 boys section.

In the girls’ under-14, N Sandhya (Kerala) continued her upward journey with 5.5 points at the end of the sixth round of the Centurion Bank 11th National Chess Championship for under-12 and under-14 for boys and girls at the Indian Institute of Management hall here.

Parikh is followed by three others with five points — Puneet Jaiswal (WB), Soumya Ranjan Mishra (Orissa) and Homarghya Homroy (GNCA).

Sandhya is followed by K Preethi (TN), TS Subhashini (TN) and Madhuri Mahadev Patil (Maharashtra) half a point behind.
