NEW DELHI, FEB 26: Jatin Paranjpe and Vinod Kambli demolished the pedestrian Delhi bowling as Mumbai looked invincible at close on the third of the four-day tie Group A tie on Saturday.
Resuming at overnight of 93 for two, Mumbai amassed 453 for eight before declaring their second innings, thus setting Delhi 501 in a minimum of 99 overs to win the game.
Delhi openers Akash Chopra and Davinder Sharma saw off the day. But, even at 39 for no loss, Delhi can best hope for a draw.
Kambli hit 20 fours and a six in his 97-ball 114. He and Paranjpe (325b, 17×4, 5×6), who was the last of the eight wickets to fall before stroking 185 runs, added 210 runs for the third wicket in 185 balls.
