NEW DELHI, Dec 4: The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a high-level committee to inquire into the reported raids by some unidentified persons at the ancestral house of renowned Muslim scholar Ali Mian last month, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Madal Lal Khurana informed the Lok Sabha today.

Khurana read out in the House Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh’s letter to the Home Minister on the reported raid and search of Ali Mian’s house and said the committee will submit its report within ten days.

He said district administration had informed the state government that as per their knowledge no investigating agency was asked for this search.

The letter said that committee set by the state government has inspected the site and have met Ali Mian and taken his evidence, Khurana said.

The chief minister also stated that the state government was committed to ensure full protection and dignity to all important persons belonging to all the sections of the society.

Khurana said that the Lok Sabhawill be apprised of the findings of the committee after the report was available with the government.
