With Pakistan deciding to restrict the number of visas to cricket fans keen on watching the India-Pakistan first Test at Mohali, only 3,000 from the neighbouring country would arrive here, as against the 7,500 expected earlier.
Sources said that out of the 7,500 tickets sent by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) to the Pakistan Cricket Control Board, some 4,500 tickets are being returned. These tickets would be put up on sale from tomorrow, said PCA Secretary M.P. Pandove.
Tickets for Pak nationals at the VIP Block were priced at US $35 each. This included the season ticket price (for five days), the cost of journey from Wagah to Chandigarh and back, and dormitory accommodation for the visitors. ‘‘The unsold 4,500 tickets will be put up for sale here for Rs 1,000 each,’’ said a PCA official.
