Over 100 regulars killed in these attacks, 30 to 40 militants have also been gunned down by Indian troops guarding LoC, he added.

The motive behind activating offence along Indo-Pak border in Jammu region was to accelerate militancy, boosting morale of militants and forcing infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir, the official said.

Most of the dead bodies of Pakistani soldiers were taken away by the retreating troops. Their Indian counterparts managed to gain control over 14 Pakistani regulars’ bodies as well as over 40 odd bodies of militants, the officer said.

“All these bodies were handed over to Pakistani army via Chakla and Octeria border out-posts (BOPS) during the past six months period”, he said.
