Springfield in final

Springfield High School defeated St Anne’s High School (Malad) in the suburban final of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at the Azad Maidan today. Springfield won by 121 runs. Springfield will play Shardashram in the district final on Monday.

Aresh victorious

Aresh Daruwala, a Standard VII student of Campion School, won the sea swimming festival organised by YMCA, by completing the 11-km stretch from Uran to Gateway of India in 3 hours 10.55 minutes. Ten students aged between 7 and 12 participated, GD Somani girl Radhika Kapadia being the youngest.

Mumbai take lead

Mumbai took the vital first innings lead over Baroda on the second day of their three-day West Zone Cooch Behar Trophy (under -19) tournament at the MIG grounds here today.

The visitors, resuming their first innings at 188 for nine this morning, lost Ketan Shah (112) this morning to be all out for 222.

In reply, Mumbai made 223 for seven wickets at stumps to take a one-run lead.
