The steamy scenes in Shashilal Nair’s new film seem to be too hot for lead actress Manisha Koirala. Hurt by the film’s ‘vulgar’ love scenes, Koirala has filed a complaint with the Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA).
Nair’s film Ek Chhoti Si Love Story is about a 15-yr-old boy’s sexual obsession with and fascination for an older woman, played by Koirala.
Nair had promised the actress that he would use a duplicate for scenes involving excessive physical exposure. However, Koirala now finds the scenes are not acceptable to her.
‘‘I signed the film because I wanted to help Nair out as he was going through a rough phase. I did the film absolutely free of cost since he is a close friend,’’ Koirala said.
She said that when Nair told her about the scenes, she rejected them right away. She gave in only when he told her a duplicate of hers would be used in those scenes. Besides, he promised to use the scenes only if she approved of them.
But she said he backtracked on his promise and ‘‘he was not ready to show me the scenes he had shot with my duplicate. He later showed them to me and I was shocked! They were vulgar. I told him he must remove them. But he refused to respond to my pleas. I’m hurt!’’
However, Nair does not seem to be perturbed by the developments. He said, ‘‘I had informed her I’ll be using her duplicate. Anyway, she’s my best friend and I’m sure it’ll be sorted out soon.’’
CINTAA member and Director-General of Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP), Anil Nagrath, said: ‘‘We have sent a notice to Nair. He can’t use any of those scenes shot with the duplicate till Koirala gives her nod.’’
