Even as Congress Working Committee member and Defence Minister A K Antony has come up with recommendations to help 8220;re-energise the party to meet emerging challenges,8221; partymen in Kerala are hoping against hope that his magic pill for resurrecting the party will bear some results. And they have reasons too. They could not help remember the fact that the party has never been in power in Kerala under his leadership. All elections with Antony at the helm have proved disastrous for the party. He had faced three Assembly elections as CM and the Congress-led UDF bit the dust in all. The most disastrous was the 2004 Lok Sabha elections where the Congress-led United Democratic Front lost all but one of the 14 Lok Sabha seats.
