Several Kashmiri Pandit organisations have criticised National Conference president Omar Abdullah’s statement in Parliament on the Amarnath land issue and alleged it would aggravate the prevailing condition in the state.“Abdullah’s statement has spelt disaster for the prevailing disturbed conditions in the state,” Kashmiri Pandit Sabha’s Jammu president A N Sadhu, senior vice president and Sangarsh Samiti member K K Khosa said in a release.They alleged the tenor of his speech gave indications that Abdullah wanted to take NC back to the days of Muslim Conference.“By saying that the land will not be handed over to the Amarnath shrine board, Abdullah has shown himself as a communalist,” Khosa said.All India Kashmiri Pandit Conference president H N Jatu alleged that the NC had “now shown its true colours”.He alleged the statement of Abdullah had communal overtones.Panun Kashmir Movement leader Opinder Kumar also took exception to Abdullah’s and criticised UPA leaders for lauding him during the trust motion in Lok Sabha.
