Olympic torch bearer dies, staffer killed in accident
A 74-year-old Olympic torch bearer died here after completing his leg near the New South Wales town of Muswellbrook on Thursday.
He said drivers were desperately needed to ferry International Olympic Committee (IOC) officials, VIPs and team and technical officials.
“We need 4,500 drivers for the Olympic car fleet but in recent weeks we have found a higher than expected drop-out rate,” the paper quoted him as saying.
ORTA will hold a recruitment morning on Saturday.
