CHANDIGARH, August 1: Shishu Niketan Club, Sector 20 beat Jawahar Navodaya Vidalaya, Sector 25 2-0 in the Chandigarh State Sub-junior football championship under 16 years at D.A.V. Sr. Sec School, Sector 8 today.
Nitish Malik scored in the first half while Heer made it 2-0 for Shishu Niketan in the dying minutes of the match.
In another match, Sanjay Public School-44 beat New Public School-18 2-0. Chetan Pathania and Vinay scored the goals for the winners. The half-time score was 1-0 in favour of Sanjay Public School.
In another match, Liberty Club-27 beat Govt. Sr Sec School-15 4-2 via tie breaker. The teams were tied 1-1 in normal time. Left striker Chetan Sharma of Liberty Club-27 scored a goal in the 13th minute but Gagan scored the equaliser for GSSS lads. O.C.F Juniors beat Royal Greater Club-45 4-0. Bhupinder opened the account for the winners in the 10th minute. OCF increased the tally by scoring two more goals through Vishav Negi. The score became 4-0 when Ajay Pal converted a spot kick.
Tribune Model School-29 and Blue Star Club played a goalless draw. However, Blue Star Club won the game via tie breaker 5-4.
St. Xavier8217;s Sr Sec School-44 beat City Club by a solitary goal. The match winner was scored by Taewang Phuntsok in the 48th minute. D.A.V. Sr Sec School-8 beat Khalsa Club 2-0 in the last match of the day. Both the goals were scored by right striker Parkash, in the 18th and 28th minute.
