LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan is learnt to be desperate to secure Z-plus security. The recent landmine attack in Salboni, West Bengal, has given him an opportunity to pitch for the elite security cover. Immediately after the attack, LJP leaders shot off a letter to the Prime Minister seeking NSG cover for Paswan. However, Paswan doesn’t want the NSG commandos for just his security. A party leader quoted him as saying that “without the NSG commandos, the local administration in the states does not take you seriously. They feel you are just another union minister.”
