Not a rebel

BJP General Secretary Arun Jaitley was missed at the BJP8217;s national executive even as his detractors, the supporters of Rajnath Singh in particular, tried their best to paint him as a party dissident.

But Jaitley had the last word. Returning from a month-long holiday in the US and UK, the man shrugged off his jet lag and attended a meeting regarding the party8217;s presidential nominee within hours of landing at the IGIA airport. The following day he attended a strategy session with NDA candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Advani, Rajnath Singh and Jaswant Singh on how to run the campaign against Pratibha Patil. Jaitley says there is no space for a dissident in the party8212;it is up to Rajnath to accept the truth of that statement.
