NEW DELHI, June 18: Terming the Centre's decision to send teams to states to study the law and order situation as "unconstitutional," the United Front (UF) today said it would resist all moves to clamp President's rule on any state."What is the provision under which bureaucratic minions can go and talk to the authorities of state Governments including Governors," United Front spokesman S Jaipal Reddy asked at a press conference here. The teams were not given the freedom to report facts, Reddy said, recalling that the Centre's emissary, Ashok Kumar, who had gone to Chennai to study the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu was reprimanded and handed out a punishment transfer. He charged the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government with taking recourse to this unprecedented technique to satisfy the insatiable demands of its allies and to settle scores with old adversaries like the Communist Party Marxist and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Laloo Prasad Yadav.
