PUNE, MAY 7: Do deadlines and forecasts about fall of governments have any significance in politics? Former Chief Minister Narayan Rane, when asked about the repeated predictions made by his party about the fall of the Democratic Front government making no impact, said that making such predictions in politics was a routine matter.

Rane, who spoke to newspersons, said the saffron alliance would not make any attempt to bring down the Government. “It appears as if this government does not have any existence. It does not have any decision-making capacity. All developmental works initiated by our government have come to a standstill,” he charged.

Rane, the Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, also said that it was totally incongruous that on the one hand, the Government was taking an overdraft to meet expenses and on the other, was talking of expanding its ministry.
