There is no move to frame government legislation against outsourcing in the UK. ‘‘We totally resist and resent political manipulation,’’ said Dari Taylor, British member of Parliament from Stockton South. She was speaking at a meeting organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Taylor is currently in New Delhi, leading an all-woman 10-member British MPs delegation — the Labour Friends of India. ‘‘While there was no way to stop the movement of outsourcing goods and services, each economy would need to rethink and come up with newer strategies to ensure that the domestic workforce did not feel neglected,’’ she added. Others like Christine Russell MP (Chester), Julie Morgan MP (Cardiff North, Wales) and Sandra Osborne MP (Ayr, Scotland) spoke at length on the high unemployment rates they have faced in the past and the measures taken to create alternative employment.
