NEW DELHI, January 20: No public meeting concerned with the elections would be allowed after 10 p.m.. This was among the regulations issued by the Chief Electoral Officer of the State Election Commission today.

Vehicles being used for electioneering shall not be allowed to move in convoys of more than three vehicles from the date of notification till the completion of the election process.

Any contesting candidate shall not be allowed to use more than one vehicle for himself and only one for his election agent on poll day for which a permit will be issued by the Returning Officer. No booth can be set up by any candidate, however, a table and two chairs can be put beyond 200 metres of the polling station. The candidate’s agent or workers can sit there and issue slips to the voters.

The CEO has also requested all political parties to observe the model code of conduct and rules on defacement of property in public view, restrictions on printing and publishing of election posters, use of loud speakers and sale or consumption of liquor.According to the schedule of Election Commission of India, the last date of filing nominations is January 28, the last date for scrutiny of nominations is January 29, last date for withdrawal of nominations is January 31 and in case of Delhi, polling date is February 16.
