Nirupama Vaidyanathan will make her return to competitive tennis when she spearheads the Indian women’s challenge in the tennis events at the Asian Games at Busan, South Korea next month.

Nirupama, who was married recently and has been out of action so far this year, will play in both the singles and doubles matches of the team events as also the individual events.

Manisha Malhotra, Rushmi Chakravarthy and Isha Lakhani are the other women members of the team.

The men’s section will be led by Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi along with Rohan Bopanna and Sunil Kumar Sipaeya. Paes will pair-up with the young Sania Mirza and Bhupathi with Manisha Malhotra in the mixed doubles.

Mustafa Ghouse and Vishal Uppal, and Sania Mirza and Ankita Bhambri form the second doubles pairs in the men’s and women’s sections.
