Nine new trains introduced

According to the Northern Railway chief public relation officer, the capacity of 20 mail-express and passenger trains was being augmented by general service and reserved coaches including air-condition class, and additional stoppage were being provided to three mail/express and four passenger trains.

Besides, 33 mail, express and passenger trains have been rescheduled, the railway official said.The new trains are :-
5213/5214 Muzaffarpur-New Delhi bi-weekly Swatantrata Senani Express, which was inaugurated by the railway minister on August 18.
4853/4854 Jodhpur-Varanasi Marudhar Express tri-weekly via Faizabad, which started on August 15.
4845/4846 Jodhpur-Ahmedabad tri-weekly Express, which made its inaugural run on August 16.
4707/4708 Bikaner-Bandra Express (four days a week), started on the occasion of the Independence Day.
5Ljh/6ljh Ludhiana-Hisar passenger and 3fkb/4fkb DMU passenger between Fazilka-Bathinda and 1ba/2ba Bathinda-Abohar passsenger were all inaugurated on August 15.
2155/2156 Habibganj (Bhopal) Nizamuddin Express, date for which is yet to be announced.
2107/2108 Kurla-Varanasi Express (daily), date of which is still to be announced.
Dadar-Bhagalpur Shram Shakti Express was being extended to Guwahati once a week from August 21, 1/4 dr Delhi-Rohtak passenger was being extended to Bhiwani from August 15 and 1jpj/2jpj Jodhpur-Jaisalmer passenger to run via Pokhran (date has not been finalised yet).

The five trains frequencies of which have been increased are 1031/1032 Pune-Varanasi Express (from weekly to bi-weekly), 9047/9048 Surat-Patna Express (from weekly to bi-weekly), 2715/2716 Nanded-Amritsar Sachkhand Express from three days to five days a week, 5219/5220 Kurla-Darbhanga Express (from bi-weekly to tri-weekly) and 8603/8604/8605/8606 Delhi-Hatia Jharkhand Swarna Jayanti Express (from weekly to bi-weekly).
